Baby Blankets – A Sense Of Love And Stability
Baby blankets are the most adorable item it the wardrobe of a little angel. It’s a lovely piece of cloth available to warp and keeps warm the small baby. These blankets not only help to keep the baby warm but also ensure maximum security and feeling of comfort to the baby. These are available in a number of color and textures. However, more the color of a blanket will cool; more it adds beauty to your baby.
There are several materials used in the manufacturing of these blankets. The most affordable and convenient among all is cotton. It helps to ensure comfort to the child. The yarn used in these involves double knit weight, bulky weight and worsted weight. These blankets may be handmade or machine made items. Usually circular and double pointed needles are used in knitting process.
Baby blankets are usually made by casting five stitches and then knitting these around. Now, mark this first round. Make one stitch around each stitch which will become ten stitches in total. Carry on this pattern of adding more stitches one by one. All this will be done with the help of circular or double pointed needle. Continue the process of adding one stitch after the other until you get the required diameter of your blanket. Now, it’s complete. Simply cast off and finish the ending with embellishment you desired. For that purpose you can simple add tassels or fringes. This is generally used to give more finished look to the item.
Baby blankets can be purchased from any store related to baby’s accessories. However, these can be obtained easily at home without spending a lot of money on stores. There are some directions to produce this lovely item at home level. First and the foremost requirement is that you must have soft and easily washable fabric that does not harm your baby’s skin, sewing machine and a tread. Before working with the fabric, shrink it. Trim any unnecessary edges if present. Moreover, you can also hem these edges properly with the help of machine. Turn the raw edges with the help of hemming. The top edge should be carefully stitched to hold it in a place. You can also decorate the stitches to create an enhancing and attractive item for your kid.
